Water Meadow View & Seren Lodge Shortlisted for Design in Mental Health Awards 2026
We’re pleased to share that two of our projects have been recognised in the Design in Mental Health Awards 2026. Delivered in collaboration with Gilling Dod Architects, Water Meadow View has been shortlisted for Project of the Year (New Build), and Seren Lodge has been shortlisted for both Project of the Year (Refurbishment) and the Service User Engagement Award.
Water Meadow View, for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, is a new 14-bed inpatient facility supporting people who require specialist mental health care. Designed around personalised care, the scheme includes communal spaces, sensory rooms and an art studio, with green spaces integrated as a key therapeutic feature. Our team provided fully coordinated designs, with a strong focus on sustainability throughout the project.
Seren Lodge, for Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is a specialist eight bed, mental health unit to support perinatal mothers, babies and their families from across Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales. The development combines new extensions with refurbishment works to create a welcoming, single-storey facility featuring a nursery, sensory room, family spaces and accessible outdoor areas. The design incorporates specialist anti-ligature measures and carefully integrated building services to support both safety and wellbeing.
Director, Matthew Pickford commented, “It’s fantastic to see each one recognised in the Design in Mental Health Awards. Each scheme demonstrates how thoughtful, best-practice and innovative design can create environments that genuinely support mental health care and recovery.”
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 2nd June 2026.
