StockRoom opens to the public

StockRoom, part of the Merseyway Redevelopment Plan, officially opens to the public.

This future-focused community hub features a new town centre library, creative spaces, IT facilities, and a multi-purpose event space. These spaces provide a venue for a variety of activities celebrating culture and creativity whilst supporting the local community.

Appointed to undertake the initial design under a Design & Build contract, our team implemented a range of low-energy, future-ready solutions to support the Council’s carbon reduction ambitions. This included an air-to-water heat pump system to generate domestic hot water, and a central air handling unit with heat recovery for ventilation, reducing the overall energy demand and helping to minimise the building’s operational carbon.

During the construction, we collaborated closely with the client, providing design reviews and compliance checks to ensure that the systems installed met high performance standards.

We’re delighted to have supported Stockport Council in delivering this vital community asset. Not only is it in our home town, but it also plays a key role in transforming Merseyway and supporting the broader investment in the town centre.
