Children’s Interactive Museum, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Client: Spectrum MEP

Architect: Henning Larsen

Budget: £20m

We provided the detailed building services design for the Children’s Interactive Museum which forms part of the overall vision of the King Abdullah Financial District masterplan, intended to create a new financial district in the city of Riyadh.  The development, which  includes skywalks, offers a wide mix of offices, residential, educational, sports and cultural facilities of different types.

The multi-level 14,683m2 Museum is both educational and entertaining and all aspects of the installation complement these requirements.  We used thermal Dynamic Simulation Modelling to ensure that all HVAC systems achieved this high level of performance.  Energy efficient systems to minimise water use and wastage were incorporated along with high level and underfloor power installations to allow flexibility as the exhibits develop and rotate.
