Dahlia House, Burnage
- Later Living & Care
Client: Southway Housing Trust
Dahlia House will consist of 56 one and two-bedroom apartments, café, treatment room, residential lounge, community gardens and a reception. The scheme provides good quality housing tailored to the needs of older residents whilst creating a great community environment.
We utilised ground source heat pumps in the M&E servicing strategy brief and design for Dahlia House via a network of external boreholes. These are linked to ground source heat pump (GSHP) units to provide heating and domestic water to each flat. To reduce the carbon footprint, the client was keen to utilise Photovoltaic panels (PV) on the roof of the apartments, this source of energy is fed into the power supply to then be utilised by the users. We are overseeing the design and build of the new development that is set for competition in mid-2021.
