Matthew started his Building Services Engineering Degree at UMIST in 1998. He undertook his year out placement at S I Sealy, and we were so impressed with him that we sponsored him through his final year!

Matthew is a mechanical design engineer, CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor, which means that he is competent to minimise energy use and carbon emissions from buildings in design and operation; and he goes beyond the current legal minimum for improving the energy performance of buildings.

He has worked on a wide range of projects in different sectors. His key clients include: JD Sports – he has worked on over 200 stores across all the JD Sports brands; Salford University redevelopment; and Salford University Think Lab – this was a complex series of relocations for a number of University departments; BUPA Care Homes – he has worked on a number of new builds as well as over 20 extensions.
